‘Tis the Season to be Tacky!

The Elkhart Education Foundation is excited for the annual Ugly Sweater 5k Run and 1 Mile. This is a fun-filled event for every person: the serious runner, the recreational jogger, walkers, and our furry friends.

Prior to the race, take some fun pics at the First State Bank Photo Booth. Wear your ugliest sweater and you may win the Ugliest Sweater Contest Sponsored by Lippert (contest starts before the race). Prizes will be awarded for the top Overall Male/Female as well as fastest male and female in each of 15 age divisions! Note: The Stroll is not timed, so there are no placement awards for that event.

At the finish line, enjoy hot chocolate and holiday treats at the finish line.

Check-in and packet pickup / Onsite Registration begins on Friday, December 1 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Elkhart Health & Aquatics in the Community Meeting Rooms and Saturday, December 2 at NIBCO Water and Ice Park

The race is the kickoff to the city of Elkhart’s Winterfest, which features a series of seasonal events including:

• Breakfast with Santa at the Elkhart Fire Department
• Christmas Bazaar at Beacon’s Aquatics Center
• Ice Skating and Caroling 
• Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting 

The funds raised at this event benefits students, teachers,
and staff at Elkhart Community Schools.
