Jeff Hemmerlein is the principal of Pierre Moran Middle School. Mr. Hemmerlein is a seasoned educator with 21 years of experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator. He most recently served as the principal of LaSalle Academy in South Bend.
Mr. Hemmerlein began his teaching career at Pierre Moran in 2002 and spent 13 years there as an English teacher, football and track coach, and the school’s athletic director. He continued his career at the former Elkhart Memorial High School before accepting an administrative position that took him away from the Elkhart Community Schools for a short period of time. He is excited to be able to return to the building where he started his career and again serve the Pierre Moran community.
Mr. Hemmerlein is a graduate of Indiana University South Bend and Bethel University. He has been married to his wife, also an educator, for nearly 20 years and they have one daughter. Mr. Hemmerlein loves sports and is a huge fan of Notre Dame football and the Green Bay Packers. He is looking forward to cheering on his students at their athletic events this school year.
